For over forty years, the Cheektowaga Community Chorus has brought harmony and inspiration to the greater Cheektowaga community. The Chorus presents three major concerts per year, and participates in civic and community activities such as "Masterworks ala Carte", a Heritage Gospel Celebration and "Handel on Hunger", which are collaborations with other choirs. Outreach to both youth and senior citizens is a major focus of the group, performing with schools such as Cheektowaga Central High School and Union East Elementary School; and for the senior citizen's "Spirit of Sharing Dinner." Six years ago a summer Music Camp was developed, which is open to children in Erie County. It is held at the Alexander Community Center in Cheektowaga. In recognition of its commitment to youth, the Chorus received the 2006 Organization Service to Youth Award presented annually by the Cheektowaga Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Services. This past season the Chorus again performed with the Cheektowaga Symphony joining voices for the first time with the Festival Chorus. The Chorus enjoys support from the Town of Cheektowaga, The Target Stores Community Grants, The Arts Council in Buffalo and Erie County, and the Cheektowaga Patriotic Commission. The Cheektowaga Community Chorus is a member of the Arts Council in Buffalo and Erie County as well as Chorus America. For more information,
